Introduction to Oil Painting (10 Week Course)

  • Q: How is Oil painting different from Acrylic painting/Art jam?

It is very different from acrylic painting and requires more in-depth knowledge on the handling of paints, mediums and solvents. Because of this, few institutions are able to teach the medium in the right way. At ROKU Atelier, our instructors are highly skilled in oil painting, material knowledge and colour theory.

In addition, the drying times for oil painting is much longer than acrylic, and improper use of mediums may result in damage or cracking in the long run.

Q: What are your studio facilities like?

Our studio is one of the cleanest art studios you will find in Singapore. It is bright and well ventilated with sinks and bathroom facilities. It is located on a rooftop garden which our students love.

Q: Do I have to bring any materials for this course?

You do not have to bring any materials. All the necessary tools and materials are included in our Oil Painting Materials Bundle. We also have facilities for washing up in our studio. You can leave your materials in our studio after class.
